How to Achieve the Perfect shampoo
& Blow-out
Unfortunately, shampoo and blow-out services are not being offered at the moment. All appointments require a wash/blow-out before the appointment time. Here are some tips on achieving the perfect shampoo and blow-out to ensure a smooth braiding session and prevent cancellations!
When washing your Hair
-
Choose the best shampoo/conditioner for your hair type.
-
COMB HAIR OUT THOROUGHLY BEFORE YOU BEGIN YOUR WASH [THIS WILL MAKE THE PROCESS SO MUCH EASIER]
-
Wet hair thoroughly [water should be warm/hot] & Apply a decent amount of shampoo to the hair
-
When washing the hair, DO NOT use your nails to scrub your scalp; instead, use your fingertips to massage and clean your scalp. [hair and scalp should be washed/massaged for at least 3 minutes]
-
Rinse the shampoo thoroughly and continue with conditioning the hair
-
Apply a decent amount of conditioner to the hair and comb through thoroughly [make sure all of the knots and tangles are out of the hair]
-
Conditioner should sit in the hair for no longer than 2-3 minutes.
-
RINSE THOROUGHLY & GET READY FOR THE BLOW-OUT

When blow-drying your hair
-
DO NOT blow-dry your hair in a steamy bathroom/room. The space should be well-ventilated.
-
Blow dryers with comb attachments are recommended.
-
Use a lite heat protector *Fantasia Hair Polisher Heat Protector SPRAY is recommended. [DO NOT USE THE POLISH OIL] ONLY 3-5 SPRAYS ARE RECOMMENDED depending on hair thickness and length
-
Spray the entire head with a heat protector and comb through the hair evenly. [PLEASE BE SURE NOT TO OVER-SATURATE THE HAIR OR ADD TOO MANY OILS/PRODUCTS, THIS MAY RESULT IN A CANCELLATION]
-
Section Hair in 4 sections & Blow dry from the tips to the roots on HIGH HEAT.
-
After each section is completed, braid the section in a plait to keep the hair as stretched as possible.

Natural Hair
Colors
All braid services include braid hair! I only provide natural hair colors 1, 1B, 2 & 4. All natural hair colors are provided with the service regardless of length. If you are unsure of what color you or your child is, the chart below may be of assistance to you. If you want colored hair, you are responsible for purchasing it and providing it to the stylist no later than 24 hours prior to your appointment for preparation. Colored hair appointments not received within at least 24 hours prior to the appointment will be cancelled

Quality
Hair Brands
My top priority is providing my clients with the best quality and service. When it comes to the braiding hair I use, I will always seek the best. I personally like to use the brand Sensationnel X-Pression Braiding Hair. I love the hot water set on the hair and the way the braids handle the boiling water dip. This hair always seems to leave me with a sleek, neat look. Should you need to purchase hair because you want some color, here are some examples of the Sensationnel X-pression Braiding hair I use and a few other braiding hair brands that I find acceptable. All brands listed below are synthetic braiding hair brands

Braid-Maintenance
In order to get the most out of your hairstyle, I recommend the following:
-
Wrap your braids in a satin bonnet every night. I recommend the long extended bonnets that will allow you to keep your braids down instead of folding them up to fit inside the bonnet. I recommend keeping your hair wrapped up when lounging or working out.
-
Moisturize your scalp every day with a natural oil such as Almond, Coconut, Olive, or Argan oil.
-
I recommend washing your braids at the 4-week mark.
-
I recommend keeping your braids for a minimum of 6-8 weeks in order to see effective growth results. I do not recommend keeping your braids in for longer than 8 weeks.
-
Touch up's/maintenance is recommended at the 4-week mark if necessary. Braid maintenance appointments are always available for knotless braids via my website.
*If it is not listed here, I do not recommend it.
